Morning Hills

Jan thinking he is going to have surgery.
Just got out early for a quick run this morning before taking Jan to the hospital for his sinus surgery. They didn't end up doing surgery because the anesthesiologist asked some good questions right before they were about to wheel Jan in for surgery. Jan told how he has heart blockage(s) that are causing chest pain with exertion or going up stairs. Jan told them it wasn't a problem tho, he just goes slow and takes it easy to prevent it from happening. That guys eyes got big, he was trying to keep a poker face but you could tell he what he was thinking.
Finally, finally Jan got a small wakeup call to the seriousness of his problem. With me and his parents sitting right there. The anesthesiologist asked the name of Jan's cardiologist, when he last saw him, etc. Right on the spot he ordered an EKG and actually crossed the room, looked him up in the phone book and called Dr. Kenwood. With what he heard from Dr. Kenwood he conferred with the sinus surgeon Dr. Meads, and they cancelled the surgery, told him they want him to wake up after surgery.  They would treat all the pre-op like it hadn't happened, no charge, go see the cardiologist and have the test to find out what is wrong with his heart! "Then someday you can run with your wife," Dr. Kenwood said.
