Camp W

Waiting at Kahle Park for all our friends.
Since 2008 I have been coming to Camp W with my dogs, my sister Nancy and her dogs, and this will be Jan's 3rd year at camp. We are now part of the "pack." We have made many special friends over the years and look forward to spending time with them. Our favorite camp activities are hiking, crafts, a morning of herding, photo shoots and of course, eating. Over the years we have tried many different activities at camp such as: freestyle dancing, agility, canine massage, tracking, lure coursing, K-9 good citizen, costume contests, dog behavior discussions, campfires with guitar music and cowboy poetry, and playing with our dogs on the beach.
As always, Camp W starts on a Sunday afternoon at 3pm when the gate opens and we all drive in, check in and show our vet records. They take down our vehicle types in case of fire.
Lining up at the gate at 2:57.
Then the unpacking begins. We use carts to haul all our stuff to the cabin. It usually takes us 3 hours to set up our cabin.  We try to get it done before dinner.
Nancy's area. She likes green.
Marsha's area, she likes pink and purple.
Jan's area.

Here is our cabin, all set up. We are in Boys 5 again this year. We like it because it is the nearest one to the restroom, gotta keep my man happy. We bring lots of stuff. Our setup makes it easy for us to access everything quickly - especially if we are in a hurry to get hiking.
Can't leave out my side view with bike.
This week our regular camp cooks will not be there and Camp W will be using the 4-H cooks. They have a difficult act to follow. I hope they are up to the challenge.
After dinner we put the dogs in crates in the car and went to watch the fireworks.

That's some organization.
